Chris Wenjie Yang 🐻

I've been working as a Natural Language Processing researcher and algorithm engineer at Baidu's NLP department since July 2023. My current focus lies in enhancing the performance of ERNIE Bot (文心一言), one of the leading large language models in China, through innovative data-driven approaches.

I specialize in developing advanced computational methods to extract actionable insights from complex and large-scale data. I have extensive experience in analyzing massive data, designing studies, and executing projects collaboratively, including tasks like data collection, processing, modeling, visualization, and communicating findings with stakeholders. Trained in cross-disciplines, I was concentrating on addressing critical challenges in various domains such as health, social media, and society. These works have been published in top-tier computer science venues such as CHI, ICWSM, CSCW, and DIS.

I was also a visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where I was advised by Prof. Robert Kraut, Haiyi Zhu, and Diyi Yang. I completed my Master's degree (MPhil) in Computer Science Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where I was advised by Prof. Xiaojuan Ma.
